Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has unveiled his campaign team ahead of the party’s National Chairman contest.1
The team includes former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, Nhyiaeso MP and former Deputy Finance Minister Dr Stephen Amoah, former Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP George Mireku Duker and other senior party figures.
Former Sunyani East MP and former Majority Chief Whip, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, will serve as Campaign Chairman, while former New Edubiase MP and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, George Boahen Oduro, will be the Campaign Manager.
Other members include former Trobu MP Moses Anim, former Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan, former Ablekuma North MP and former Deputy Ambassador to China Akua Afriyie, and former Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.
According to a statement from Wontumi’s campaign, the team brings together experienced political figures and emerging leaders and reflects the support he has received across the NPP.
Wontumi said the campaign will focus on party unity, organisational strengthening and grassroots mobilisation as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general elections.
He said the broader objective is to reposition the NPP for victory in the 2028 elections.
